1. What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a small text file stored by a website in the user's browser. QA Note uses only essential and functional cookies needed to maintain login state and remember language or interface settings. It does not use tracking cookies for advertising or marketing.

2. Cookies Used by QA Note

Authentication-token cookies use httpOnly, Secure in production, and SameSite=Lax. Language, sidebar, and recent-organization cookies are accessible to browser JavaScript so the selected interface settings can be applied immediately.

3. Behavioral Information Collection

As a QA (Quality Assurance) tool, QA Note may collect the following behavioral information to accurately reproduce and debug software bugs. This data is used solely for QA issue reproduction and debugging purposes and is never used for advertising or marketing.

  • Session Replay: Records DOM changes, mouse movements, clicks, and scroll events. Uses the rrweb library to store user screen interactions in a reproducible format.
  • Console Logs: Collects messages output to the JavaScript console (log, warn, error) to understand the context of error occurrences.
  • Network Requests: Collects request/response metadata (URL, status code, duration) and, where available, limited request/response body text up to 2KB. Sensitive headers, parameters, and fields are automatically masked.
  • User Actions: Records clicks, the occurrence of input, navigation, and similar events. Actual input-field values are automatically masked.
Note: Sensitive Information Protection: All input fields in session replay are masked by default, with additional filtering for sensitive headers, parameters, and body fields such as passwords, tokens, and card numbers. Screens or optional DOM/storage content captured directly by a user may still contain personal information and should be reviewed before submission.

4. Cookie Settings and Rejection

Users can reject cookie storage or restrict behavioral information collection. However, some features may be limited.

  • Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through Settings > Privacy. Blocking authentication cookies will prevent you from logging in to QA Note.
  • Session Replay Deactivation: You can disable the session replay feature in project settings. When disabled, session replay data is not collected for that project.
  • Chrome Extension Settings: You can toggle individual data collection items (console logs, network requests, user actions) on/off in the QA Note Chrome Extension settings.
